The journey of friends began before the journey of Canitan began, with two best friends since childhood, attending Manor schools and being home schooled as well. They both excelled in the sciences, but each had their unique gifts that made this journey possible. Think: Huck Finn, but in the modern day world.
One friend, Canyon, attended ACC then studied computer science at Texas State; the other friend, Nathan, studied digital electronics at Southwest Institute for Technology and both graduated. Meanwhile, in 2002, Canyon Franzetti, established Canyon Computers as a comprehensive IT company located in San Marcos, Texas. In 2004, Canyon Franzetti, Nathan Smith, and Chris Urbanovsky founded American Computer Resources (ACR), specializing in full-service computer repair and offering on-site IT services for both commercial and residential clients in the Austin Metroplex. With the departure of Chris Urbanovsky in December 2006, this led to the restructuring and formation of Canitan LLC, Pronounced as Can’-ih-Tan, with Nathan as Operations Manager, everything started really taking off!
In 2008, Canitan expanded its service portfolio by introducing VoIP phone services, and by 2013, Canitan became security licensed by the State of Texas DPS, expanding its offerings to include alarm systems, access control, and Ultra HD camera systems. By 2016, Canitan started offering managed services, such as managed computers, security, phone, and networks. Fast forward to 2019, Canitan further expanded its services to include IoT, automation, and monitoring systems.
Today, Canyon and Nathan remain co-owners. Canyon mainly works as Account Manager and Nathan runs in-house Operations. Diego Vasquez runs project and break-fix operations. Canitan is proud to have five, high level technicians, complemented by a network of skilled contractors for specialized projects, along with our in house Communications and Marketing Manager, Susie, and our Client Relations Manager, Lisa, for a seamless experience for our clients from start to finish. We have established partnerships with various hosted service companies, data centers, VoIP end-line trunking providers, and other service providers, all in our incessant pursuit of delivering the best possible service for you.
